Zambezi Queen
About Zambezi Queen
Built in 2009 – and fully refurbished in 2015 – Zambezi Queen represents one of the most environmentally-friendly ways to see the wildlife of the Chobe River. A purpose-built “floating hotel”, Zambezi Queen promises a unique experience in wild Africa, and we believe you will love the ship’s seamless combination of sophisticatedly elegant accommodation and public areas with themed dining and entertainment.
Zambezi Queen caters for no more than 28 guests at any one time. The ship’s accommodation is comprised of 10 luxurious staterooms and 4 lavish suites. All of the accommodation categories on Zambezi Queen are air-conditioned and boast private balconies in order to grant privileged views of the breathtaking African landscape and scenery.
Dining on Zambezi Queen takes place on the top deck. Here, you can enjoy mouth-watering, regionally-influenced cuisine prepared with the freshest ingredients and locally-sourced produce. Also on the top deck you will find the ship’s lounge and bar, as well as a plunge pool which offers the perfect respite from the African sun.
A highlight of any expedition aboard Zambezi Queen is, of course, the opportunity to spot some of the region’s wildlife. Equipped with a water jet propulsion system, Zambezi Queen is designed to be efficient, environmentally friendly and quiet. The ship’s low-emission generators and solar heating system ensure the ship’s engine sound is kept to a minimum, which in turn means wildlife standing close to the river’s edge are often unfazed.
Every African expedition on Zambezi Queen includes a visit to Chobe National Park, where you can enjoy an exclusive private picnic and an escorted boat safari along the banks of the Chobe river. You will also have the chance to visit an African village to meet the locals, something that proves to be a highlight for many guests.
You will also take a trip to one of the world’s most mesmerising waterfalls, Victoria Falls. Home to the famed ‘Devil’s Pool’, you will have a 2-night hotel stay in an upgraded room at a hotel close to Victoria Falls, during which time your breakfast and a guided tour is included.
