Silver Cloud
About Silver Cloud
A ship with an illustrious history in the luxury cruise market, the 260-guest capacity Silver Cloud recently underwent an extensive refurbishment programme to transform her into a an ice-class ship. Offering itineraries in the Arctic, Antarctic and on the Norway’s rugged coastline, she is the perfect choice should you be looking to enjoy exciting experiences ashore and a sophisticated onboard experience.
Silver Cloud is equipped with 18 Zodiacs – more than similarly sized ships – which means landings and excursions can be co-ordinated swiftly and efficiently, weather permitting. Owing to the challenge of getting even a small expedition ship close to a landing zone in polar waters these large, inflatable rubber boats are essential.
Onboard, you will find Silver Cloud has a delightfully warm, yet spacious interior. An all-suite ship with more than 75% of the accommodation options offer a private veranda. The suite grades range from the quiet sanctuary of the Vista Suite to the grandeur and opulence of the Owner’s Suite.
Dining on Silver Cloud is certainly an one-of-a-kind experience. She offers the only Relais & Chateaux restaurant in Antarctica, Le Champagne, where the menu combines seasonally prepared dishes and the freshest locally-sourced ingredients. The other dining venues onboard Silver Cloud include the Italian restaurant, La Terraza and a Pool Bar & Grill; a more relaxed affair where seafoods and prime cuts are cooked to order.
Although much of the time on your Silver Cloud expedition will be spent exploring ashore or by Zodiac, there will also be ample time to relax and enjoy the ship’s luxurious surroundings and facilities. With amenities akin to that of a boutique hotel, Silver Cloud has a heated outdoor swimming pool, whirlpools, a fitness centre, beauty salon, spa and internet cafe.
Other public spaces include a panoramic lounge, which proffers stunning ocean views; a show lounge and a top-deck observation lounge which is the ideal place for pre and post-dinner drinks.
