Monserrat
About Monserrat
Based year-round in the Galapagos Islands, Monserrat is a small-scale ship offering expeditions in the region from the island of Baltra. She is named after the Virgin of Montserrat, who for centuries has been seen by sailors as the protector of their journeys across the world’s vast oceans.
Built in 1973, the 151-ton Monserrat was completely overhauled in 2011 with vast improvements made to her accommodations and public areas. Offering accommodation for up to 20 guests – 10 staterooms with 2 guests per room – each is fully air-conditioned and spacious, with two of her staterooms offering double beds. All of Monserrat’s staterooms are located on the ship’s Lower and Upper Decks.
The aforementioned public spaces offer guests various options for rest and relaxation. She has a comfortable lounge with a flat screen television, a spacious top deck with its own bar, a small boutique and three solariums. Her restaurant and lounge are both conveniently located on the ship’s main deck.
Dining on Monserrat is offered in the vessels only onboard restaurant and consists of international and local delicacies. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served in the restaurant with all guests dining side-by-side. There is also the option for snacks throughout the day, which are served on the Top Deck.
Each expedition on Monserrat is accompanied by 11 dedicated crew members and 2 naturalist guides who have the title of ‘CEO’ (Chief Experience Officer). The CEO’s are certified by the Galapagos Islands National Park Service and throughout your time in the Galapagos Islands, they will be help you learn and understand more about the region, focusing on it’s wildlife, geology, fauna and conservation.
Through the crew’s commitment to highly personalised service and attention to detail, Monserrat provides the perfect base from which to enjoy an unforgettable experience in one of the most captivating regions in the world.
